7. Contract description

The project purpose is to ensure that BOTAS is capable to fulfill its responsibilities related to natural gas transportation and transit in compliance with the EU standards.

The project will consist of two components;

Legal and Know-how Support, covering such areas as tariffs, accounting, gas release programs, network code, transmission network development, cross border trade, transportation agreements, transit, technical operability and international obligations etc.

Technical Assistance and training for Institutional Improvement of BOTAŞ as concerns gas transportation and transit (including organizational development; creation of an information flow mechanism and an electronic bulletin board; development of reporting procedures, guiding documents, training manuals etc. as well as staff training on legislative, managerial and operational matters through seminars, study visits, etc.)

10. Additional information

The award of this contract is subject to the signature of the respective Financing Memorandum between the European Commission and Turkey and accreditation of CFCU by European Commission.

Council Regulation No. (EC) 2500/2001 of 17 December 2001 concerning pre-accession financial assistance for Turkey and amending regulations (EEC) No. 3906/89, (EC) No. 1267/1999, (EC) No. 1268/1999 and EC No. 555/2000
