6. Contract description

The project will support to the strengthening and improvement of the border control activities by furnishing customs sites with specific inspection equipment and systems (such as fixed and dome cameras for Close Circuit TV systems, CD writers, monitors & digital record, template reading system’s cameras, GPRS modems, IP Crypto equipment, software & services, cabling, barriers, hydraulic lift).

9. Additional information

The award of this contract is subject to the signature of the respective Financing Memorandum between the European Commission and Turkey and fulfilling of the following conditions by the Beneficiary.

. The launch of the tender will begin only after the arrival of the Pre-Accession Adviser (PAA) which will allow a final review of the technical specifications to be undertaken to ensure consistency with the overall strategy for modernization of the customs.

. The signature of the supply contract is conditional upon the approval by the relevant public institution of an Action Plan (linked to the customs pre-accession blueprints for Border and Inland Control & Infrastructure and Equipment) for the improvement of the customs border posts in Turkey.

10. Legal basis

Council Regulation No. (EC) 2500 / 2001 of 17 December concerning pre-accession financial assistance for Turkey and amending regulations (EEC) No. 3906 / 89, (EC) No. 1267 / 1999, (EC) No. 1268 / 1999 and (EC) No. 555 / 2000.
