6. Contract description
Purchasing of various, satellite imagery, processed image, GIS operating systems, software, hardware, training on GIS and Software application image processing equipment, four wheel drive vehicles to assist the Turkish Government to enable to meet its obligations to implement the Habitats and Birds directives including CORINE Land Cover and CORINE Biotope applications, and the EEA (European Environment Agency) and EIONET (Environmental Information Network) by establishing/improving the institutional and technical framework.

The award of this contract is subject to the accreditation of the CFCU by the European Commission and adoption of the necessary legislation by the Government of Turkey to join the European Environmental agency".
10. Legal basis
Council Regulation No. (EC) 2500/2001 of 17 December 2001 concerning pre-accession financial assistance to Turkey and amending regulations (EEC) No. 3906/89, (EC) 1267/1999, (EC) No. 1268/1999 and (EC) No. 555/2000.
